A former Professor at IIT Kharagpur, he was the Founding Director of IIM Kashipur. Later, as Vice Chancellor of IMS Unison University, he revitalized its doctoral programs.

Dr. Sinha has also served as an Independent Director on the Board of the Shipping Corporation of India. He is currently a member of the Boards of Governors of several universities and business schools.
